ABOUT THE BAND

The Irresistible Urges are international band collective based in Edinburgh playing eclectic original songs ranging from agit-pop to world music rhythms through to a seductive tango groove.

The only band in Scotland to have both a member who went to the original Woodstock Festival, and a drummer and Djembe player who is known throughout the Auld Reekie world music and afro-beat scene. Imagine lyrics from poetic to political and a sprinkling of quirky guitar soloing alternating with wow-factor harmonica and you start to envisage our roots oriented art/avant
rock mix.

That is us: original songs and voodoo rhythms. We feature electric and acoustic guitar interplay as well as authentic harmonica sounds on some numbers and vibrant djembe and percussion beats on others.
